Taj wasn't quite sure why he was here. A few nights ago he'd found a message on his machine from someone claiming to be his ancestor. While Taj knew his fae blood came from somewhere, he'd never actually thought he'd be able to meet the guy. Of course, that was assuming the guy who had called him was even the fae in question. For the fae to still alive after all these years and the events of the past two months seemed a little bit far-fetched.
Yet, Taj was here. Not because he cared to meet the guy, but because he was curious. For one thing, he'd never really met a fae before. Another reason was his ancestor had never kept in touch with the family line, so for him to suddenly want to meet one of his descendants was unusual. Taj was curious as to why and planned to ask the fae that. Of course, asking the question why and getting an answer were two very different things.
Taj sighed and leaned back in his chair. He'd been waiting for a little while now and was starting to get bored. Taj wasn't even sure who he was looking for, since he didn't know what the guy looked like. Hopefully the fae showed himself soon.

Olly had tried to call his descendant, but only got that annoying voice and beep that he supposed was a calming voice to humans. He was still cordial about it. No reason to be nasty to his inheritors. He'd set up a time for Taj to meet him at a nice little place that served food.
He was running late for his own meeting - how improper. But, his Head of Finance was like that; always talking, never listening. That's what Olly hoped to accomplish today. A new Head. Not his, but for the Finance Department. Taj was supposed to be good in that field - the human term was accountant. Olly got into his car, before being driven to the place.
Upon arrival, he scoped the place out. No sign of Rissa or Taha. It would be a good day for this meeting. Olly got out of the car and almost immediately spotted Taj. His business suit was a little upscale for the place, but he'd noticed that that description fit most of these shops. Maybe it was him? He walked up to the table gestured at the chair. "Do you mind if I sit?"

"Do you mind if I sit?"
Whatever Taj was expecting, it wasn't this guy. From what was known about the fae - which admittedly was not much - he'd pictured someone different. The slightly weedy looking guy didn't even look like a fae. If this really was his ancestor, Taj almost felt disappointed. However, the guy was slightly overdressed for the place, so maybe he was a fae and not accustomed to the times just yet. One way to find out.
"That depends. Are you the one that left the message to meet here?"
Without waiting for a reply as he was miffed at the guy for being late, Taj went on to say, "If you are, it's generally proper when meeting someone for the first time to give a general description of yourself for the other to look out for. Also, being late doesn't make for a good first impression. Especially when it's a meeting you set up yourself."

Taj even reminded Olym of himself. Nothing wrong with a bit of fun though. "That depends. Are you the one that left the message to meet here?" It took a little willpower to hold back a smirk.
""If you are, it's generally proper when meeting someone for the first time to give a general description of yourself for the other to look out for. Also, being late doesn't make for a good first impression. Especially when it's a meeting you set up yourself."
"Message? Well, considering how we just met, I don't know how I could have possibly left a message on you answering machine. All I was asking was if I could sit with a stranger, Mr. Merripen." With that, Olly took the seat opposite of Taj. He picked up a menu and started scanning through it. "Have you ordered? I wasn't aware of that. In Faerie we didn't have this problem - everyone knew who everyone else was, no need to give a detailed description of yourself. I guess I should attempt to learn more about this culture."
After browsing the menu a little more, he put it down and waited for a waitress to come up. "I do apologize for that. I'm normally very punctual. But the man I just fired was holding me up, so what do you do."

Taj sighed to himself; yeah, this was his ancestor all right. No stranger would have known his name right away. It irked Taj that the guy hadn't bothered to even leave his name. Of course, Taj was the one who had come despite not knowing anything about the fae.
"Since you knew my name without me telling you, you must indeed the one who left the message. Speaking of names, what's yours? That was another thing you didn't bother to mention. And no, I haven't ordered yet."
Taj thought about what else the fae had said and asked another question. "Everyone knew who everyone else was in Faerie? I wouldn't have thought that, considering how many fae have come pouring out these last few weeks." Taj then frowned, "And yes, you should definitely learn about this culture, considering what's happening to Faerie. What kind of fae are you even?"
It didn't really matter to Taj whether the fae was a light fae or a dark fae. It was still something he wanted to know though, especially if Taj ended up having something akin to a relationship with this man. Light or dark, Taj'd have to make sure the fae knew Taj was neutral.

"Really? Amazing. At any rate, I'm Olym Feir. Lord of the Unseelie Court. CEO and co-founder of Rec Sports. Believe me, it's not my kind of business, but it keeps me in my cups." Service here was much more horrid than he remembered. Not even a waitress in sight to get him something to drink.
"Everyone knew who everyone else was in Faerie? I wouldn't have thought that, considering how many fae have come pouring out these last few weeks."
Olly nodded. "Oh yes, why, everyone was informed of a new birth. Getting rarer these days." Something that probably shouldn't have been said. In public, or otherwise - it just wasn't common knowledge. "So tell me, what is it that an Accountant does here, exactly? I'm sure we've got some on staff, but all I ever see are projected margins, not what they're actually doing."
